"PELNI has been actively supporting the Free Homecoming Program with BUMN since 2022. Every year, we strive to improve services and accommodate more homecoming travelers so they can reunite with their families without the burden of transportation costs. For 2025, we are providing a quota of 500 passengers for the Sampit - Semarang route," said Anik.
In 2022, PELNI began its participation by providing four buses for routes Jakarta-Lampung, Jakarta-Surabaya, and Jakarta-Semarang. In 2023, the company transitioned to using sea transport, offering a quota of 300 passengers for two routes: Jakarta-Batam and Kumai-Semarang. This success continued in 2024, with PELNI operating ships for the Balikpapan-Surabaya route, maintaining the same 300-passenger quota. Now, in 2025, PELNI has increased its capacity to 500 passengers for the Sampit-Semarang route, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the BUMN Free Homecoming Program.
"Many people from Java Island currently work and reside in Kalimantan, especially Central Kalimantan. That is why we chose the Sampit-Semarang route, allowing them to return home and celebrate Eid with their loved ones. We hope this program serves not just as a means of transportation but also as PELNI’s tangible contribution to addressing public needs," Anik added.
This initiative goes beyond providing free transportation; it also embodies PELNI’s and BUMN’s spirit of togetherness and concern for ensuring a safe journey home for the people.
PELNI remains committed to carrying out Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs that benefit society and the environment while setting an example of a responsible company that upholds environmental sustainability and supports sustainable development.
