Jakarta, June 23, 2022 -- In order to improve service to customers, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) together with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) and Perum DAMRI signed a memorandum of understanding on Intermodal Cooperation in Jakarta, Friday (23/6). With this collaboration, it is hoped that prospective PELNI ship passengers will find it easier to get to and leave the port passenger terminal area.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for Intermodal Cooperation was carried out by the Director of Passenger Transport Business of PT PELNI Yahya Kuncoro, Managing Director of PT PELINDO Putut Sri Muljanto, and Director of Commercial and Business Development of Perum DAMRI Dadan Rudiansyah.
Director of the Passenger Transportation Business of PT PELNI Yahya Kuncoro said that the tangible manifestation of this collaboration was to provide transportation modes to and from passenger terminals in a number of port cities traversed by PELNI ships. "By providing an accessible and regular mode of transportation, we hope that this service can increase the satisfaction of PELNI ship users. Of course this cooperation will also benefit all parties involved, both PELNI, PELINDO and Perum DAMRI," said Yahya Kuncoro.
Yahya added, in addition to the convenience factor, all parties involved are also very concerned about the safety factor for customers who will go to and leave the port. "Not only is it a pleasant experience while sailing, we also want to make sure customers feel safe and comfortable before and after sailing," added Yahya.
Through this memorandum of understanding, Yahya hopes that the cooperation between PELNI and PELINDO and Perum DAMRI will be more widely open on the principle of mutual benefit. "Of course our collaboration does not stop here. There are many opportunities that we can collaborate with PELINDO and Perum DAMRI," said Yahya.
PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in sea transportation currently operates 26 passenger ships and stops at 76 ports and serves 1,058 segments.
In addition to passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 44 pioneer ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in disadvantaged, remote, outermost and border areas (3TP) where Pioneer Ships stop at 281 ports with a total of 3,695 segments. PELNI also operates 16 Rede Vessels. For logistics business services, currently PELNI operates 10 routes of the Sea Toll Road as well as one special route for livestock transportation.*
