74 Years Sailing for Indonesia, Here is PELNI’s Transformation Journey for the Indonesian People
Jakarta, 28 April 2026 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) commemorates its 74th Anniversary by showcasing strong transformation achievements. Under the leadership of President Director Tri Andayani, PELNI has carried out fundamental changes across various operational and service aspects of the company.
The transformation implemented during Tri Andayani’s leadership includes a change in the company logo as a symbol of PELNI’s renewed spirit—more dynamic and ready to face challenges in the maritime industry. This new identity is further strengthened through the redesign and rejuvenation of PELNI passenger ships to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.
Meanwhile, the strengthening of operational systems has been realized through the establishment of an Operation Room, enabling more integrated and data-driven operational control.
PELNI’s commitment to maritime safety continues to be enhanced through the procurement of the Marine Evacuation System (MES), a modern safety device that meets international standards.
The company’s transformation has also been supported by the Government through State Capital Injection (Penyertaan Modal Negara / PMN) in 2024 and 2025, which has been utilized to strengthen the fleet and improve PELNI’s service quality as the backbone of national maritime connectivity.
In addition, the company’s commitment to transparency and good corporate governance has been demonstrated through its achievement of the Informative Public Information Disclosure (Keterbukaan Informasi Publik / KIP) recognition, reflecting PELNI’s openness to the public.
PELNI President Director Tri Andayani, affectionately known as Anda, stated that transformation is an essential part of the company’s journey as it enters its 74th year.
“Over the past four years, PELNI has undergone very significant transformation. We have made changes ranging from the company’s visual identity, fleet revitalization, to the enhancement of operational supporting infrastructure. All these steps are carried out to present a more modern PELNI, ready to serve the public better,” said Anda.
Anda added that Government support through PMN has become an important milestone in PELNI’s transformation journey.
“We are deeply grateful for the Government’s trust and support through the 2024 and 2025 State Capital Injection. These funds have been utilized to accelerate fleet rejuvenation and various service improvements. At 74 years old, PELNI remains committed to continuous transformation, improving performance, and becoming an increasingly professional, reliable, and trusted shipping company for the Indonesian people,” added Anda.
Through various transformation achievements under Tri Andayani’s leadership, PELNI is optimistic about further strengthening its role as the backbone of Indonesia’s maritime connectivity. At 74 years old, PELNI is also committed to continuously innovating, improving service quality, and making tangible contributions to national development through safe, reliable, and trusted sea transportation services.
