BUMN Communication Workshop: Exploring Digital Strategies at PELNI Shipyard

The PELNI Surya Shipyard in Surabaya was chosen as one of the field learning locations for the BUMN Social Media Rangers.

The BUMN Social Media Rangers visited the PELNI Surya Shipyard in Surabaya as part of the BUMN Communication Workshop series held on Friday (April 25). This activity served as a platform for collaboration and field learning, enabling the rangers to strengthen the role of BUMN digital communication through hands-on experience.

During the visit, the rangers received in-depth explanations about the strategic functions and roles of the PELNI Surya Shipyard within Indonesia’s maritime industry. They observed firsthand the maintenance and repair processes of vessels of various types and sizes. Additionally, they engaged in discussions with the shipyard's technical team to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and innovations involved in keeping the fleet in optimal and safe condition.

Beyond learning, the rangers actively documented the visit and the shipyard’s atmosphere through engaging content, which they later shared on social media platforms. With a creative spirit, they transformed technical information into content that is appealing and easily understood by the public, using the hashtag #WorkshopKomunikasiBUMNSurabaya2025. Through this activity, the rangers are expected to become effective communication bridges between BUMN and the wider community.

The visit also served to strengthen bonds among rangers from various BUMNs, fostering synergy in building a positive narrative about state-owned enterprises in the digital space. Through direct interaction in the field and collaborative content creation, the rangers not only broadened their technical knowledge but also honed their storytelling skills in a human-centered and impactful way. This aligns with the spirit of BUMN communication transformation—adaptive, transparent, and closer to the public.
