French Cruise Ship Agent, PELNI Maintains Quality Agency Services
Labuan Bajo, February 5, 2025 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) through one of its strategic business units, PELNI Agency, has once again earned the trust of the prominent French cruise operator, Ponant, to support the operations of the MV Paul Gauguin cruise ship in Indonesian waters. This appointment is a testament to the commitment of PELNI Agency in providing quality services for ships operating in Indonesia.
The Vice President of Shipping Agency PELNI, Muhammad Ardiansyah, stated that the trust Ponant has placed in PELNI is a tangible proof of our commitment to providing the best service for international ships. The services from PELNI Agency are expected to improve the comfort and safety of cruise ships operating in Indonesia, as well as strengthen PELNI's position as a trusted partner in the global maritime industry.
"We continually strive to raise service standards and ensure that international vessels receive adequate service in accordance with international standards while in Indonesia," said Ardiansyah.
MV Paul Gauguin is scheduled to sail to several tourist destinations in Indonesia, including Labuan Bajo. The cruise ship has a capacity of 332 passengers and is supported by 215 crew members. PELNI Agency is responsible for various aspects of the service, such as port clearance, crew handling, fuel (bunkering), and other maritime services to ensure smooth operations while the ship is in Indonesia.
Ardiansyah added that PELNI Agency has established a long-term partnership with Ponant to handle the operational needs of ships sailing in Indonesian waters. "Ponant only trusts three shipping agencies in Indonesia to handle their ship services, one of which is PELNI Agency. This trust is recognition of the dedication and professionalism of PELNI Agency in the maritime industry," explained Ardiansyah.
