Indicated as OTG, Crew of 5 KM Dorolonda Recovering from Covid 19

The examination results showed that there were 3 passengers from Jakarta indicated that Covid-19 and 19 crew members were indicated to be exposed to Covid-19 without symptoms (OTG).

Ternate, May 4, 2020 - Management of PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) - PT PELNI (Persero) informed as many as 5 KM KM Dorolonda crews who had been undergoing treatment and quarantine in Ternate had been recovered from Covid-19 exposure based on the results of swab examinations on this Monday (4/5).

The Head of Corporate Secretary of PT PELNI (Persero), Yahya Kuncoro said that up to now there are still 14 KM Dorolonda crews who are still undergoing the process of maintenance and quarantine in Ternate. "All KM Dorolonda crews in Ternate are currently reported to be in good, healthy, and stable condition. We are continuing to await the development of the health of the crew," Yahya said.

Previously it was informed that KM Dorolonda arrived on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at the Port of Ternate. Based on health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic, all crew and passengers were examined by the CTF and the local health department. The examination results showed that there were 3 passengers from Jakarta indicated that Covid-19 and 19 crew members were indicated to be exposed to Covid-19 without symptoms (OTG).

The ship's position is still undergoing a quarantine and port stay process at Tg. Priok, Jakarta.

Yahya added that as a company engaged in public transportation services, all ship officers have a high risk of exposure because they meet and interact with all passengers every day. The company also actively carries out supervision of the health of all ship personnel.

"Management always reminds the crew to always implement clean and healthy lifestyles and maintain health and enhance body immunity especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.

PELNI is a State-Owned Enterprise that operates in the field of sea transportation has currently operated as many as 26 passenger ships and visited 83 ports and served 1,100 sections.

In addition to passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 45 pioneer ship routes which become a means of accessibility for population mobility in the T3P area where pioneer vessels stop at 275 ports with 3,739 sections. PELNI also operates a total of 20 Rede vessels.

Whereas in the logistics business services, PELNI now operates 4 cargo ships, 8 sea toll vessels, and 1 cattle-specific vessel.
