PT PELNI (Persero) once again held a qurban event in commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1446 H on Monday, June 9, 2025. Organized by the company’s Islamic Spiritual Body (Bakis), the event carried the theme “Spread Qurban, Spread Happiness” and was held at Curuh Berkah Slaughterhouse (RPH) in Depok. Despite taking place during a national holiday, employee enthusiasm remained high as they joined the process virtually via Zoom.
The event successfully distributed 2,418 meat packages to various regions, including Greater Jakarta, Merauke, Ende, Surabaya, and Denpasar. Distribution was not only aimed at employees and retirees but also extended to communities around the head office and committee members’ neighborhoods. All slaughtering was conducted at the RPH to maintain order and hygiene.
Vice President of Human Resources and Bakis Advisor, Opik Taufik, emphasized that the qurban is not only an annual religious practice but also part of the company’s social responsibility. “We prioritized meat distribution to employees in job levels 13, 14, and 15 as a form of the company’s commitment to employee engagement,” he stated. He also expressed hope that future distributions would reach more branch offices.
Chairman of Bakis PELNI, Rendhy Permana, said the event reflected the collective involvement of all PELNI personnel. “This qurban is an expression of devotion to Allah SWT as well as a form of social care and outreach from PELNI to surrounding communities,” he explained. Despite only two weeks of preparation, employee participation was very strong.
From a technical standpoint, Qurban Committee Chairman Budi Purnomo explained that preparations began with consultations and risk identification. “We started by identifying risks and then created internal control measures to ensure smooth implementation,” he said. The slaughterhouse was selected after a careful survey conducted by the procurement team.
The event also symbolized interfaith tolerance and unity within the PELNI work environment. One of the meat recipients, Lanti Sari Pasaribu, a Christian employee, expressed her gratitude and appreciated the spirit of inclusivity that made her feel valued and part of the PELNI family.
Bakis hopes that this spirit of unity and compassion will continue to grow in the coming years. Chairman Rendhy expressed his wish that future qurban activities will involve more meat donations and wider distribution coverage as a reflection of care and solidarity among employees.
