Jakarta, January 12, 2026 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) announced that the economic stimulus program in the form of a 20 percent ticket discount from the basic economy-class fare during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year transportation period officially ended on January 10, 2026, with a utilization rate reaching 99 percent.
Throughout the departure period from December 17, 2025 to January 10, 2026, total discounted ticket sales reached 414,634 tickets, with the realization of the discount quota reaching 99 percent of the total budget of Rp24.8 billion.
PELNI Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda stated that the highest passenger realization during the outbound peak of the discount program occurred on December 18, 2025, with a total of 27,489 passengers. Meanwhile, the highest passenger realization during the return flow was recorded on January 8, 2026, with 23,921 passengers.
“Overall, the number of passengers who utilized the discount reached 414,634 people, or 103 percent of the predetermined target of 405,881 passengers. This achievement reflects the strong public enthusiasm for the government’s stimulus program managed by PELNI,” said Ditto.
Despite the increase in passenger numbers, Ditto emphasized PELNI’s continued commitment to prioritizing maritime safety by ensuring compliance with vessel operational standards.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the Government, particularly the Ministry of Transportation, for entrusting PELNI as the implementer of this stimulus program. We also thank the public for choosing PELNI vessels as their mode of transportation during the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year travel period,” Ditto added.
The company’s achievement in this economic stimulus program demonstrates PELNI’s important role in realizing the objectives initiated by President Prabowo Subianto.
“PELNI is also committed to continuously supporting the government’s vision by strengthening interregional connectivity in Indonesia, encouraging domestic tourism, and expanding public access to safe and affordable sea transportation,” Ditto concluded.
