Serving 316 Thousand Homecoming Passengers, PELNI Ready to Optimally Welcome Return Flow

Jakarta, March 23, 2026 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) recorded a positive performance during the 1447 H Eid homecoming period for departures from March 6 to March 22, 2026, serving a total of 316,602 passengers. This figure reached 100.5 percent compared to the same period last year, which recorded 315,128 passengers.

PELNI Corporate Secretary, Ditto Pappilanda, stated that the peak of the homecoming flow occurred on March 18, 2026 (D-3 before Eid), with a total of 31,255 passengers.

“During the homecoming period, the busiest departure port was recorded in Balikpapan, while the busiest arrival port was in Surabaya. Meanwhile, the Batam–Belawan route was among the most popular routes for travelers,” said Ditto.

For the return flow period of Eid, with departures from March 23 to April 6, 2026, PELNI has prepared anticipatory measures to ensure a “Comfortable Journey Together.” These efforts include strengthening coordination with stakeholders, adding service personnel and security staff, and ensuring fleet seaworthiness to maintain smooth passenger travel.

“As of March 23, 2026, total ticket sales for the return flow period have reached 171,438 tickets. We project the peak of the return flow will occur on April 2, 2026, with an estimated 27,009 passengers,” added Ditto.

Ditto also urged travelers who have not yet secured tickets to book through official PELNI channels to avoid the risk of sold-out quotas and unofficial tickets. He also reminded passengers to always comply with onboard safety protocols and maintain cleanliness during the journey.

“We always prioritize passenger safety and comfort by implementing safety first, zero accident, and service excellence principles. If passengers require assistance during the voyage, our crew is ready to serve wholeheartedly,” Ditto concluded.
