Jakarta, 25 May 2023 - - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) officially launched a new logo along with a new tagline "We Connect, We Unify". The launch was inaugurated directly by the RI BUMN Minister Erick Thohir in Jakarta, Thursday (25/5).
The inauguration was also carried out with the Secretary of the Indonesian Ministry of BUMN, Susanto, and the Main Director of PT PELNI, Tri Andayani. The new PELNI logo depicting the ocean replaces the old PELNI logo which has been in use for 71 years.
Tri Andayani expressed her gratitude to the Minister of SOEs who attended and took part in inaugurating PELNI's new logo and tagline. The presence of Erick Thohir shows the support of the Ministry of BUMN for the transformation carried out by PELNI management in recent years.
"This logo change is needed in line with changes in the Company's vision and mission. To become a leading maritime shipping and logistics company in Southeast Asia, we need a personal identity that can support the major transformations that we have carried out and are still ongoing."
In his remarks, Anda--Tri Andayani's nickname--mentioned that one of the impacts of the transformation for the Company was consolidated (audited) profits in 2022 which increased by 423.3% compared to last year.
2021. Besides that, the score for the Implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) has increased and is at a score of 86.29 in the "Very Good" category. PELNI also received the title of "Informative Public Agency" from the Central Information Commission with a score of 97.35 on a scale of 100.
In addition to increasing business performance, the Government's trust in PELNI is getting bigger which is shown from a series of assignments such as free motorbike homecoming transportation, assistance with ferry transportation
Ciwandan – Panjang (PP) and most recently floating accommodation in Labuan Bajo to make the event a success
ASEAN Summit statehood.
"We are proud to be able to support the Government's assignment and at the same time we must also develop a business strategy, especially in the logistics sector to enlarge our commercial business position," Anda added.
PELNI's new logo
The new logo carried by PELNI is inspired by the bow of the ship seen from above and is equipped with the "PELNI" branding identity on the side. You said the placement of the logo on the left side seemed to encourage "PELNI" to move forward and make breakthroughs in the shipping and logistics business.
PELNI's new logo contains three blue elements that depict the depth of the sea, where the deeper the ocean, the darker the color of the sea water. The color gradation describes the Company's long experience which is supported by fast and modern innovation and transformation.
About PELNI
PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in shipping services currently operates 26 Passenger Ships serving 1,058 sections and visiting 71 ports.
Apart from passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 42 Pioneer Ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where Pioneer Ships stop at 273 ports with a total of 3,495 sections. PELNI also operates as many as 16 Rede Ships. For logistics business services, currently PELNI operates 10 Sea Highway routes and 1 special route for Livestock Vessels.
