Free Homecoming Program PELNI 2025 Sampit-Semarang: Here’s How to Register

Jakarta, March 5, 2025 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia, also known as PT PELNI (Persero), is once again organizing a free homecoming program as part of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiative to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1446 H.

This program aims to assist people who wish to reunite with their families in their hometowns without worrying about transportation costs. It is also a manifestation of PELNI’s commitment to supporting the annual tradition of Muslims in Indonesia.

As part of this free homecoming program, PELNI is providing the KM Leuser ship for the Sampit - Semarang route, which will depart on March 24, 2025, with an allocation of 500 free tickets. Registration for these free tickets officially opened on March 4 and will continue until March 19, 2025.

PELNI’s Director of Passenger Transport Business, Nuraini Dessy, stated that this free homecoming program is a tangible form of PELNI’s commitment to being present for the public during important moments. “This Eid, we are launching a free homecoming program with KM Leuser, allocating 500 free tickets. Our goal is to help people maintain their tradition of togetherness without worrying about travel costs. We hope that the 500 passengers joining this journey will experience comfort and warmth. We also encourage eligible individuals to register as soon as possible before the quota is full,” said Dessy.

PELNI urges the public to take advantage of this opportunity by registering at the PELNI Sampit Branch ticket counter before the quota runs out, given the high enthusiasm for previous free homecoming programs.

"We have also fully prepared the ship's crew and field officers to provide the best service, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the journey," added Dessy.

To ensure a smooth and orderly registration and travel process, PELNI has set several terms and conditions that must be met by prospective passengers to participate in this program:

1. Passengers must have an identity card with a National Identification Number (NIK) (KTP for adults and Family Card/KIA for passengers under 17).
2. Passengers must have an account on the PELNI Mobile app.
3. Registration must be done at the PELNI Sampit Branch ticket counter by presenting a photocopy of their identity card and printed proof of having an account on the PELNI Mobile app.
4. Eligible and verified passengers will be invited to join a WhatsApp Group.
5. The booking code will be provided through the WhatsApp Group.
6. Once they receive the booking code, passengers must arrive at the port five hours before the ship's departure.
7. Passengers must comply with all applicable regulations.
8. The available quota is 500 seats.
