Surabaya, 11 April 2023 - - PT PELNI (Persero) again appeals to people who want to go home on the PELNI Ship to immediately order tickets. Purchase of PELNI Ship tickets until H-1 Eid 1444 H has sold over 50 percent.

Director of the Passenger Transport Business Yahya Kuncoro said that as of April 7 to 21, 59.91 percent or 134,216 tickets had been sold and would continue to grow.

"As in previous years, the highest sales of the busiest toll roads are in the Batam-Medan area, and the busiest departure ports are in Makassar and Balikpapan. For people who don't have tickets yet, we suggest checking ticket availability immediately through the PELNI Mobile application or the nearest branch counter ," Yahya said while monitoring KM Ciremai at the Port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, Monday (10/4).

As of April 7 to 21, boat trip tickets for the Batam-Medan section have been ordered for 8,805 pax, followed by Balikpapan-Surabaya (7,725). The next three busiest segments are Medan-Batam, Makassar-Surabaya and Kumai-Semarang.

The busiest port of departure is Makassar Port with a total of 17,139 departing passengers, followed by Balikpapan (14,862), Batam (12,566). Meanwhile, Surabaya's Tanjung Perak Port occupies the sixth most populous position with a total of 6,176 passengers.

Yahya again reminded that the peak of homecoming with PELNI Ships is predicted to occur on April 17 with an estimated 27,302 people traveling by sea out of a total of 32,447 seats installed on 26 PELNI passenger ships and 16,092 seats installed on 42 pioneer ships.

"This year, the number of travelers is expected to increase by 25 percent from 482 thousand people in 2022 to 604 thousand people this year," Yahya explained. This increase was supported by no travel restrictions imposed by the government or local governments.
Apart from the PELNI Mobile application and 44 branch office counters, PELNI Ship tickets can also be obtained through the official PT PELNI website and minimarket networks throughout Indonesia.

To improve service to customers, Yahya has emphasized to all employees on land and on board to provide the best service. Yahya warned that if there is unsatisfactory service, let alone violations by PELNI officers, in the field, so that it can be reported through customer service or the PELNI Contact Center at number 021-162 or the official Whatsapp 0811-162-1162.

"We will provide rewards or prizes for customers who can inform and provide evidence in the form of videos if there are still unscrupulous employees who dare to commit violations on board such as carrying passengers without tickets or renting rooms beyond the official ticket price. We will not hesitate to process unscrupulous employees who offend," said Yahya.

To ensure mutual comfort and safety during the cruise, Yahya also reminds passengers to take care of their luggage and occupy seats according to the seat number listed on the ship ticket.

PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in shipping services currently operates 26 Passenger Ships serving 1,058 sections and visiting 71 ports.

Apart from passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 42 Pioneer Ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where Pioneer Ships stop at 273 ports with a total of 3,495 sections. PELNI also operates as many as 16 Rede Ships. For logistics business services, currently PELNI operates 10 Sea Highway routes and 1 special route for Livestock Vessels.
