Jakarta, September 30, 2021 - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or PT PELNI has signed a cooperation agreement on the transportation of "Kirimanpos Laut" with PT POS Indonesia. The signing was carried out directly by the Director of the Sea Toll and Goods Transportation Business of PT PELNI Yahya Kuncoro with the Director of Operations and Information Technology of PT POS Indonesia Hariadi in Jakarta, Thursday (30/9).
Yahya expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the establishment of cooperation in the context of SOE collaboration for the optimization and development of sea transportation-based freight. “This collaboration has been established since 2014 and is still ongoing. Since this collaboration was held until 2021, the sea post cargo that has been transported by PELNI ships is 6.4 million tons/m3, he said.
This collaboration provides added value for each company by optimizing each potential according to its core business. "This will certainly strengthen the contribution of cargo revenue for the Company during this Covid-19 pandemic," Yahya explained.
This “Sea Shipment” is the starting point for his collaborative steps with PT POS Indonesia to complement each other in taking advantage of every opportunity and opportunity that exists. This is also the key and commitment for PT PELNI and PT POS Indonesia to continue to improve public services.
"Today is a step to continue a joint commitment between PELNI and POS Indonesia that we have built since 2014. We will continue to ensure that postal cargo will be channeled properly so that it can be forwarded back by Pos to end users," explained Yahya.
Yahya added that previously PT PELNI had also collaborated in the logistics sector, namely dooring services for transportation management (JPT) with PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) on Tuesday (21/9). "This collaboration is a form of the Company's commitment in developing the logistics business to achieve the Company's vision and mission," added Yahya.
For information, the Company noted that until August 2021 PT PELNI had transported 13,212 tons of General Cargo, 3,196 TEUs of containers and 2,959 units of vehicles. "We are optimistic that the 2021 target will be achieved in accordance with the 2021 RKAP given the increasing number of cargoes," concluded Yahya.
PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise which is engaged in sea transportation to date has operated as many as 26 passenger ships and stopped at 76 ports and served 1,058 segments.
In addition to passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 45 pioneer ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where pioneer ships stop at 285 ports with 3,811 segments. PELNI also operates 16 Rede vessels. While in logistics business services, PELNI now operates 9 sea toll routes and 1 special route for livestock transportation.
