PT PELNI (Persero) is preparing to support the Free Ticket Program provided by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and the Free Mudik Program from several state-owned enterprises (BUMN).

PELNI Ready to Support the Free Ticket Program from the Ministry of Transportation and the Free Mudik Program from BUMN

Jakarta, March 9, 2025 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia, or PT PELNI (Persero), is preparing to support the Free Ticket Program provided by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and the Free Mudik Program from several state-owned enterprises (BUMN). This year, the number of free tickets and free mudik has drastically increased compared to the previous year, reaching more regions in Indonesia.

PELNI’s Corporate Secretary, Evan Eryanto, mentioned that the free tickets and free mudik programs by BUMN this year will be carried out again using PELNI vessels during the 1446 H/2025 Eid transportation. Evan is confident that many people will benefit from both programs.

"We would like to thank the Ministry of Transportation and all BUMN companies that continue to trust us to be the sea transportation operator for this year’s Eid homecoming program. We hope that the free ticket and free mudik programs can be well-utilized by the public, and the Eid transportation will run smoothly and successfully," said Evan.

The target regions for the free ticket program assigned by the Ministry of Transportation will depart from 28 ports with a total of over 9,000 tickets. The details of the routes, vessels, and ticket quotas for the free ticket program with PELNI vessels are as follows:

  2. Belawan - Batam (KM Kelud): 600 pax
  3. Kumai - Semarang (KM Kelimutu): 375 pax
  4. Semarang - Kumai (KM Kelimutu): 375 pax
  5. Makassar - Baubau (KM Labobar): 250 pax
  6. Baubau - Makassar (KM Labobar): 250 pax
  7. Balikpapan - Surabaya (KM Dorolonda): 350 pax
  8. Surabaya - Balikpapan (KM Dorolonda): 350 pax
  9. Makassar - Surabaya (KM Labobar): 450 pax

"In particular, the number of free ticket quotas from the Ministry of Transportation on each route may change according to developments. We remind the public that there are no fees whatsoever for the free ticket and free mudik programs from BUMN. Please be cautious of brokers or individuals who falsely claim to represent PELNI," emphasized Evan.

Regarding the departure schedule for the free ticket program, Evan encourages the public to regularly monitor PELNI’s official information channels, such as the website and Instagram. He also reminds people not to trust information or ads from social media accounts impersonating or claiming to represent PELNI, which are circulating widely on Instagram and Facebook. Meanwhile, for this year’s Eid, PELNI operates 25 passenger ships and 30 pioneering ships. The total capacity for 25 passenger ships is 48,323 seats, and 11,889 seats for 30 pioneering ships, bringing the combined capacity of passenger and pioneering ships to 60,212 seats for Eid 2025.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable Mudik, as hoped by the Government and the Ministry of BUMN, PELNI ship customers can already use digital channels like the PELNI Mobile app or PELNI’s official website. PELNI tickets are also available through various banking apps such as BCA Mobile’s Lifestyle feature, Mandiri’s Sukha Livin, BNI’s agen46, Indomaret’s network, OMI partners, Alfamart, Alfamidi, ATA Tour, Fastpay, easybook.com, via.com, MMBC, Darmawisata Indonesia, Versa, and Topindo.

For payments, PELNI has partnered with Bank BTN, BRIVA, BNI Virtual Account, Permata Bank, Mandiri Virtual Account, Indomaret and OMI partners, Alfamart and Alfamidi networks, iSaku, Finpay, and Fastpay.
