PT PELNI (Persero) confirms that the economic stimulus program through a 50 percent discount on ship ticket fares is running effectively. Within just 15 days, from June 5 to June 20, 40 percent of the allocated ticket discount quota has been utilized.

PELNI Ship Ticket Discount Stimulus Quota Reaches 40 Percent

Jakarta, June 20, 2025 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) confirms that the economic stimulus program through a 50 percent discount on ship ticket fares is running effectively. Within just 15 days, from June 5 to June 20, 40 percent of the allocated ticket discount quota has been utilized.

PELNI President Director Tri Andayani stated that this economic stimulus has directly contributed to boosting public consumption, especially during this year’s Eid holiday season.

"The economic stimulus period for the discounted ticket fare runs until July 31, and even though it’s only been 15 days, 40 percent of the Rp 134 billion ticket quota has already been absorbed. It's clear that this program has been very helpful for the public, particularly since it coincides with the school holiday season. It’s like a school holiday with a homecoming (mudik) atmosphere,” explained Andayani.

Since the economic stimulus was implemented on June 5, a total of 310,000 PELNI ship tickets have been sold for travel through the end of July. This marks an increase from 208,000 tickets sold during the same period in 2024. The increase in passengers has also been supported by a special dispensation permit from the Ministry of Transportation, averaging 52 percent.

"We thank the Ministry of Transportation for fully supporting the implementation of this economic stimulus by providing discounts of up to 50 percent on PELNI ship tickets," Andayani added.

Despite the significant increase in onboard passenger numbers, Andayani emphasized the Company’s unwavering commitment to ensuring maritime safety. "Safety first, always. Safety, security, and comfort are the top three priorities we consistently uphold," she concluded.
