Vice President Gibran Visits PELNI’s Operation Room, Commends 2025 Eid Transportation Services

Jakarta, April 7, 2025 — PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) welcomed the official visit of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, along with the Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Aminuddin Ma'ruf, to the PELNI Head Office in Jakarta on Monday (7/4). Vice President Gibran took the opportunity to observe firsthand the advanced features of PELNI’s Operation Room, which monitors the real-time positions of all vessels currently operating during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return period.

Vice President Gibran was welcomed by PELNI President Director Tri Andayani, the Board of Directors, and several Vice Presidents. Through the large monitoring screen, Gibran reviewed the operational smoothness of PELNI’s ships during the ongoing return phase of the long Eid al-Fitr holiday (1446 H).

PELNI President Director Tri Andayani stated that Vice President Gibran expressed his appreciation for the company’s readiness and service management in responding to the surge in passengers during the Eid travel season. The Vice President also noted that PELNI’s efforts deserve recognition and emphasized the company’s vital role as a state-owned enterprise in maintaining inter-island connectivity—an essential component of national transportation.

“We extend our sincere gratitude for Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s visit to the PELNI Operation Room. He also took the time to observe the PELNI Contact Center 162,” said Tri.

The PELNI Operation Room, which received special attention from Vice President Gibran, serves as the command and communication center for all vessels owned and operated by PELNI. Through this room, management can monitor vessel positions and access CCTV footage from every corner of each ship in real time.

During his brief visit, Vice President Gibran advised Tri Andayani to continuously strengthen PELNI’s service systems and fleet management. These improvements are essential to support PELNI’s role in ensuring reliable and quality transportation access for people across the nation.

During the one-hour visit, Tri also explained to Vice President Gibran and Deputy Minister Aminuddin the various preparations undertaken for this year’s Eid transportation period, including safety protocols, passenger service enhancements, and other supporting measures.

“Vice President Gibran emphasized the importance of maintaining safety, security, and comfort for all passengers—not only during peak travel seasons but also throughout regular operations—to ensure consistent service quality,” Tri added.

PELNI remains committed to fulfilling its strategic role as a reliable sea transportation provider, especially in ensuring the smooth operation of Eid 2025 transportation, including the post-holiday return flow.
