Starting September 1st, PELNI urges Customers registered to PeduliLindungi App

PeduliLindung is an application owned by the Ministry of Health to assist the government in tracing and tracking to stop the spread of Covid-19

Jakarta, August 26, 2021 - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) appeals to customers who have received the vaccine to ensure that they are registered in the PeduliLindung application. This is to support the Company's policy of integrating the ticket sales system with the PeduliLindung application as of 1 September.

PeduliLindung is an application owned by the Ministry of Health to assist the government in tracing and tracking to stop the spread of Covid-19. Through this application, people's travel location data will be stored digitally as well as a database for vaccine recipients.

Director of Passenger Transport Business PT PELNI O.M. Sodikin explained that the integration of the PELNI ticket sales system with PeduliLindungi is to support the Government in accelerating the vaccination program in Indonesia, especially sea transportation users. "As a mainstay mode of transportation for the archipelagic community, this policy is expected to be able to encourage the acceleration of vaccination so that people can get access to transportation. This policy further emphasizes that PELNI passengers are those who have already vaccinated. Hopefully, it can convince people to return to travel by PELNI ships," said Sodikin.

Sodikin added that the initial screening of prospective passengers now starts from purchasing PELNI ship tickets either through the counter at the branch office or through the website, PELNI Mobile Apps, and travel agents/sales partners. To purchase a PELNI ship ticket, prospective passengers are required to include a Population Identification Number (NIK) for Indonesian citizens or passport numbers for foreigners. Later, if the NIK/passport number of the prospective passenger is identified as having received the vaccination in the PeduliLindung application, the officer will process the customer's ticket.

"For prospective passengers who have not received the vaccine for medical reasons, they can only buy tickets at the branch office counter. In addition, they must show a certificate signed by a doctor from the Government Hospital and verified by the local Port Health Office (KKP)," said Sodikin.

The PeduliLindung application is not only used to validate the vaccination data of prospective passengers, but also to find out the results and validity period of RT-PCR or Antigen to prevent attempts to falsify travel requirements documents. For the implementation of health checks, currently all prospective passengers on the PELNI ship are encouraged to carry out RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen swab tests at laboratories or health facilities affiliated with the Indonesian Ministry of Health. Up to now, there are 742 Covid-19 testing network laboratories spread throughout Indonesia.

"This is so that all information on prospective passengers' health checks is integrated directly with the PeduliLindung application so that the travel document inspection time becomes efficient," added Sodikin.

The provisions for traveling with PELNI ships refer to the SE Ministry of Transportation Number 59 of 2021 and SE of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 17 of 2021. In these rules, prospective passengers must include a certificate of negative PCR Test results with a sampling period of 2 x 24 hours or negative results of rapid antigen test where samples are taken within a maximum period of 1 x 24 hours before departure.

For information, all completeness of travel requirements documents will be verified by KKP at the port of departure. After the document is declared valid by the KKP, the prospective passenger can print the boarding pass through the vending machine. Next, prospective passengers will re-verify data at the DCS PELNI counter by showing their KTP/passport. In this process, the officer will check the NIK/passport number and validate the ticket of the prospective passenger. "If after checking at DCS the ticket purchased by the prospective passenger does not meet the requirements, then the ticket can be rescheduled or canceled and will be processed according to the applicable rules," he added.
